Belated MoCCA post!

Hey everybody! I went the the MoCCa comics fest in NYC on the weekend of April 10th and 11th. This was my first time at this event, and of course it was totally rad! This was also the official debut of "Pussy FUZZ!" I sold a whole bunch of Pussy Fuzz, and got lots of great positive feedback from various folks! In addition, I sold out of Unicronomicon and met lots of cool new peeps! Here's a bunch of cool cats in no particular order:

Robin Enrico! Robin is a new friend of mine, but I can already tell he is the bee's knees! I just want to recommend all of Robin's super-fun, extremely well written and crafted books. he didn't even start making comics until some time into his adulthood... I think he might be a genius. His website has all kinds of rad 'director's commentary.' Just Do it! NOW!

Paige Pumphrey! What a super cool chick!! She even mentions me, as well as my sales technique in her blog- check out the post! And then you should check out her rad picture of the Misfits!

Elena Sicconi! this awesome lady sent me this fantastic picture!! OMG SO AWESOME! ( that's me with the tray and the hat!! and yes, we are now friends on facebook :D )

Ryan Alexander-Tanner! my good friend and old college chum, Ryan, was there, tabling with Teacher's College Press for the new book he did with Bill Ayers!!! It's called "To Teach," you should check it out!!! I also got to meet Bill, super crazy RAD!

Katie Rose! What can I say? Kate Rose is 'DA BOMB. This is the extra fine lady is not only the super cool chick who runs Monster Transmission channel 151, but also a super fantastic artist!!! Katie and Ryan made a great book called "The Book of Lists," which I love, in addition I also adore Katie's comic about giant monsters (I'm blanking on the title, but will update soon.) I highly recommend these! Also, a special thanks to Katie and all her pals at SVA that let me stash my extra goods under their table. I totally owe you guys big time! And thanks to Both Ryan and Katie for letting me crash at your pad for the weekend!

Nick Bertozzi! While I was hanging out with Ryan and Katie in a nearby park after the the first day of MoCCA, we ran into Nick Bertozzi. I found out that he was managing the Fat Jack's Comic Crypt in Philly back in the early nineties, during the same time period that my father used to take me with him to get comics there as a kid. Weird coincidence, also a really cool dude to talk to!!!!

Also, here is the pile of books I accumulated by the end of the festival:

There are a handful of interesting books in here that I have yet to mention- i.e. "I'm Crazy" by Adam Bourret, and that Schrodinger's Cat one right over there on the top of the pile, among others. I also picked up some cool toys and awesome socks. Maybe after Stumptown I can put up notes about these and all the stuff I'm going to gather after this weekend. :D

And fortunately or unfortunately, the "crashing the festival by carrying your books around on tray" trend must be catching on, there were two others at the event!

My sister Michelle and her fiance, Rob, accompanied me to the fest on Saturday. Here they are on the train, with Michelle sporting my handmade Pussy Fuzz hat. Hijinks ensue!!

AND now check out Laura, a satified Unicronomicon customer!!

I found laura enjoying Unicronomicon on the steps outside the fest, having a smoke. Comicettes and cigarettes! What a perfect pair!

Well, that's all for now! Next up is Stumptown Comics Fest this weekend. Woo-hoo!
